If you're a car guy, you probably already know about Beau Bachman. He's the boss at Galpin Auto Sport, or GAS for short, the tuning company that worked on the cars features in Pimp My Ride. What does that have to do with our story?
Well, Beau's family owns the largest Ford dealership in the world and they recently bought a car that's not legal to drive in America. The Ford Focus RS is the crazy cousin of the Focus ST. This model belongs to the previous generation Focus lineup, which is why it has a five-cylinder Volvo engine not a 2.0-liter EcoBoost. Unfortunately, Ford never thought people in America might want it as well, so Beau had to buy his from Mexico.
Normally, the car makes about 300 horsepower using its Volvo-sourced 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. But GAS tuned this one to make 420 horsepower… from a front-wheel drive.
