This is the quote which we believe will beg any Jaguar fan eager and giddy with anticipation: “Jaguar's sporting heart will beat stronger than ever before in the F-TYPE. Its development is a vivid representation of the confidence and ambition of the Jaguar brand, and our desire to produce a world-leader in a market segment that we have been absent from for too long. But no longer – the F-TYPE is coming.”
If the words of Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar’s brand director, are not enough to get you excited about this car, than how about this video released by the British manufacturer detailing the new two seater. Keeping it short and sweet, we’re going to tell you that the new convertible sound awesome.
Regarding what’s under the bonnet, we believe that sounds like a highly tuned V6, since it sounds so much like Lotus’ Evora. But Jaguar is preparing “range of petrol engines, including a new powerplant family". Why call it a family? Because the F-TYPE has a good chance of being a hybrid as well, and Jaguar has no such engines at the moment.
Ex F1 drive Martin Brundle says its very responsive and turns in well, so we could be in with a treat. However, it’s still too early to say if we’re looking a Porsche rival. Expect to see regular updated until the car is finally revealed in 2013.
