Hawtai B35 SUV Second Try: A Premium Chinese Cayenne Clone

Chinese clone all the known brands and create cheaper and never better versions of the original one. To be fair, in the electrical components manufacturing they’re doing quite a good job. Almost all the stuff surrounding us is labeled “Made in China”.

On the other hand, in the automotive area they do an awful job. The very first models of other known Chinese car manufactures like Geely or BYD or Dongfeng were almost identical clones of premium brands.

This is also what Hawtai did: they copy pasted the Porsche Cayenne and added their logo on the front grill. This is the second attempt to clone it, so you can consider it a facelift. The first version adopted a Bentley-like chromed fascia, but now it looks like the front of the Jaguar XJ.

The SUV is 4.6 m long, 1.8 m wide and it’s 1.75 m tall and comes with two powerplants, a 1.8-liter 158 hp turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-liter turbo diesel rated at 148 hp.

If you want to buy this Cayenne Clone you can choose a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmision and you can also opt for the four-wheel drive system. The starting price for the car in China is about $20,000.
