The New Honda Africa Twin?
A photo rumored to be the new Honda Africa Twin started circulating around the web yesterday. While it’s still impossible to verify whether it shows the actual production version of the Africa Twin or just another Photoshop exercise of eager enthusiasts, this machine looks neat, even though there’s nothing left of the initial machine.
While we knew that the new dual-sport Honda was kind of derived from the current CRF family, and talked a bit on the matter in this autoevolution coverstory, we were happy to learn that Honda was not following the bigger displacement trend and planned to keep things under the 1000cc mark.

Not sure how will the fans of the old Africa Twin welcome the parallel-twin, as is will definitely change the game and comparing it to the old v-twin is hard, if not impossible. Even on the looks side, this new AT is a completely different beast, with most of the design cues of the CRF450 Rally, seemingly in a slightly bigger size.

If this is really the new Arica Twin, We’re already extending condolences for the turn signals, as they will be the first things riders will be left without when they drop the bike for the first time. Even more, it will be interesting to see where and how does the pannier system mount on the tail section. And we also bet that the narrow rally-raid seat will not feel exactly touring after the first 6 or 7 hours of your transcontinental journey.

All in all, our call is that this is yet one more photo manipulation, and are still waiting for the rear Africa Twin.
