As a slang word, “ownage” is mostly used by teenagers who play online games, but you will hopefully excuse us when we use it to accurately describe how one of the most epic drag races we have ever seen actually went down.
In short, a Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG (W211) driver from the US recently received a rather unusual offer to drag race against what seemed like modified Nissan 350 Z, whose owner was bragging about the fact that it had already “killed” a Mercedes-Benz C 55 AMG and was about to whoop the E 55 AMG's behind as well.

Before we go into the details, you should know that neither the E 55 AMG nor the Nissan are stock cars, but even so the “Z's” naturally-aspirated V6 wouldn't have stood a single chance against the eight-year old supercharged V8 from AMG, despite the massive weight difference in its favor.

According to its owner, the Nissan 350 Z uses a cold-air intake system, Borla Exhaust, Alphawerks headers, custom pipes, UR Pulley, new cams and an ECU upgrade. Assuming that it is a post-2006 model, we should be looking at around 350 hp or maybe a little bit more, with a weight of approximately 1500 kg (3300 pounds).

As the stock model could accelerate from naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just under six seconds and do the quarter mile in around 14 seconds, we can pretty much guess that with the aforementioned modifications it may have dropped into the low 13 seconds in the quarter.

A stock E 55 AMG of the W2111 generation has a supercharged 5.4-liter with 476 hp (469 bhp) and 700 Nm (516 lb ft) of torque, enough to catapult the 1835 kg (4045 pounds) sedan from naught to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, onwards to a quarter mile time of a little over 12 seconds.

In other words, even with all those mods, the Nissan could never touch a stock Mercedes-Benz E 55 AMG (W211) from 2006 in a drag race, never mind one that has a new intake and exhaust cutouts, like the model in the video below.

So, to make the race a bit more fair for the Nissan 350 Z owner, the guy with the E 55 AMG did the funniest thing anyone was expecting him to do: showed up at the race with a trailer, carrying a lawn mower. Watch the video below to see how it all went down, it's worth every second – especially when the E 55 AMG wiggles its tail for a bit with the trailer attached. Don't mess with an AMG if you don't know its specs!
