Ford clearly aimed for style with the new Fusion, which while it may be a bit bulky from the side, it is quite sleek, well proportioned and handsome. The same philosophy has been applied on the inside, where the way things were styled ranked very highly on the priorities list.
It focuses on this season’s fashion trends, textures and sculpted, almost architectural looks, with sleek flowing lines, lots of details and varied grain patterns and colours. It has already received praise for the way it looks, yet the touch sensitive buttons it uses aren`t the easiest to use, and drivers will have to take some time to get used to them, though. However, overall, we do agree that the inside of the Ford Fusion is quite pleasant to look at, and much better than that of the old Fusion, or the European Ford Mondeo.

According to Susan Swek, Chief Designer, Color and Material Design: “We’re getting more expressive with the diversity of color – just like you see in fashion [ . . . ] Our range is expanding in all sorts of color spaces; we’re going from lights to darks, both high and subtle contrasts, thoughtfully designed, harmonious colors [. . .] Colors and materials – in any industry – are really about stimulating the senses [ . . . ] They’re about sensory design along with complementing other design elements. They’re about detail and interest and texture, and about the way things come together.
