Nissan have announced that they will be stopping all exports of their Inifiniti-badged luxury cars into China, until January of next year, according to China Daily. The reason cited for the decision is, of course, the Diaoyu island issue, and its negative effect on sales.
However, it seems that not everybody is onboard with the idea, as Nissan China’s public relations office has stated on Tuesday that the move had not yet been approved by the higher-ups at the main headquarter. Now, whether or not it will go through, Infiniti dealers in China reportedly have enough cars in stock, to last them for another two months, so the move will not immediately affect buyers, except for those who will want a specific car, with specific options fitted to it.

Infiniti sold some 19,000 cars in China, in 2011, and with the opening of their new and very grand headquarters in Beijing, they were perhaps hoping to spur sales on, and were hoping to sell 30,000 units by the end of 2012 - with this latest move, it is doubtful they will be able to stick to the original numbers, though.
