In Brazil, Pedestrian Safety Is Taken Very Seriously

As cities get more and more congested, with more and more cars clogging up the streets, pedestrians are undoubtedly feeling the strain, and the reduction in their own personal space (cars very close or on the corsswalk as they are crossing the street, for instance).
Now, a Brazilian group called the Hermann Blumenau Rotary Club (affectionately known as ‘Brazilian Crosswalk Guardians’) have taken matters into their own hands and have shot an amusing promotional video, in which once a car has stopped improperly at a set of traffic lights, eight men sprint off the sidewalk, pick the car up by hand and then place it a few meters back, in the correct area for waiting for the lights to turn green.

According to reports, some 13 people die every year in the city of Blumenau - double the national average of Brazil. We honestly would like this to be generally applied as it may actually deter drivers from having the impression that they own the street.
