We're all different and let's be thankful for that, to paraphrase some cheesy line from some cheesy movie you probably have seen. That means there's no perfect one thing or another, but rather that we get enough options to choose what we deem perfect for ourselves.
That said, if there was such a thing as the perfect dream house for a girl, it would probably look a lot like La Maisonette Lavande, which translates from French as "The Little Lavender House." It's the cutest, most stylish, and yet full home for a new female tiny house owner. It's also the latest design from U.S.-based builder Decathlon Tiny Homes.

The two owners of Decathlon Tiny Homes describe themselves as "the best tiny house builders in Texas," and that may very well be accurate. They also claim to offer affordable homes on wheels for most people, and they do that through a lineup of several models, each with several variations in size and plenty of custom options.

At the end of the pre-sale process, by checking boxes and adding options while keeping in mind their budget, owners get to drive away with a home that is truly their own. La Maisonette Lavande is a good example in this sense: though based on the company's most popular model, the Athena, it's very much its own thing, with elegant styling and features that the owner herself will be able to relate to because she's chosen them herself.

Tiny houses have seen an incredible boom in popularity over the past few years, and the direct result of that is an increase in the number of options. Far from being mobile homes that only avocado-loving hipsters would consider living in anymore, tiny houses are now considered viable, more convenient alternatives to traditional housing.

Their high degree of customization enhances their appeal, even though personalization often comes at a higher price or, depending on what it is you're personalizing, compromises in other aspects.

For this one, the owner opted mostly for cosmetic personalization, thus retaining the home's mobility. La Maisonette Lavande sits on a triple-axle 28-foot (8.5-meter) trailer and is 8.6 feet (2.6 meters) wide, which means it can be towed with a truck.

La Maisonette Lavande gets its name from its lavender exterior, which is actually a shade called "potentially purple," combined with metallic pearl white on the trims. The combination gives the home a fairytale-like vibe, though designer April Terry says the look they were going for was French cottage chic.

This is more apparent inside, thanks to a combination of sage green ("evergreen fog") for the cabinets and furniture, fresh oak flooring, custom tiling, and brushed nickel hardware. The layout offers almost 241 square feet (22.3 square meters) of living space, all of which are on the ground floor. This makes this unit somewhat of a rarity for tiny houses: a bedroom on the ground floor is not unheard of, but it IS rare for tinies this size.

La Maisonette Lavande features a small but complete kitchen, an equally small living space next to it that could also double as a dining area, a bedroom isolated from the rest of the home by means of a barn door, and a large and gorgeous bathroom.

There's storage throughout, from the floating shelves and cabinets in the kitchen to the wardrobe by the bed and the drawers hidden inside the bed platform. There's even more storage in the small loft over half of the kitchen and the bathroom.

The unit is designed to be hooked up to the mains by means of an RV-style connection, so it gets a standard flushing toilet, a large shower with butterfly glass doors, and a laundry station in the bathroom. There's no sense in thinking about ways to cut down reliance on the grid if the owner has no immediate plans for that.

The kitchen features a two-burner induction stove and an oven, a deep farm sink, and a vintage-styled fridge. It's small and basic in terms of appliances, but it's surprisingly generous with storage: you get additional cupboards by the fridge, two pull-out pantry-style racks, and a proper pantry behind a door that swivels all the way. La Maisonette Lavande could allow you to live on canned goods only – and maybe the occasional pasta – if that's your thing.

Further customization from the standard Athena includes two more windows in the area directly above the kitchen and two retractable fans for better ventilation. The unit still has the standard mini-split for heat and AC and the standard 30-gallon (113.5-liter) water heater in the bathroom.

This being a custom model that was just delivered to the owner, certain details about the build are not revealed. That includes pricing. For reference, though, the Athena model starts at $79,500 for the shorter 24-foot (7.3-meter) variant, so it could be that the final tally for La Maisonette Lavande is in the neighborhood of $90,000.
