There are plenty of things the Blue Oval doesn’t want us to know about the 2017 Ford GT for now. Sure, these will surface, but since the car is currently completing its development process, they should remain secret. Unless they are revealed via the gaming world, of course.
When Ford introduced the 2017 GT at the Detroit Motor Show, all you had to do was get behind the car and it would become obvious that its rear wing is active - those panel gaps, as small as they are, can be found there for a reason.

However, we haven’t been able to see the supercar’s rear spoiler in action so far. Well, thanks to Forza Motorsport 6, we can see the active aerodynamic tail of the GT doing its thing - after all, this is a racing simulator, so gluing the wing until the actual car is revealed next year wouldn’t have cut it.

At least in the game, the wing goes up once the supercar hits (60 km/h). Nevertheless, while the Xbox experience doesn’t seem to include this, the wing also acts as an air brake in real life, just like the one on the Bugatti Veyron.

It’s hard to discuss the 2017 Ford GT without mentioning its expected price

And speaking of the real world experience, that wing is part of an extremely complex aerodynamic package, one that has demanded the use of words such as “fuselage”. Then again, with the rumor mill placing the 2017 Ford GT in the same financial league with the Lamborghini Aventador, you can expect such advanced engineering. Read: $400,000.

We know the screenshot above is not enough, so we’ve brought along a Forza 6 gameplay video that allows you to get a more complex view of that playful aero element. Remember, this American supercar now packs a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, showing Ford is stepping into a new era.
