After being forgotten for a while, the little Twingo is back and it's cooler than ever. With help from the makers of the fortwo, smart, Renault has managed to build the most original car in this segment and after a long wait, we can now tell you what it actually costs to buy.
Renault has officially begun taking orders for its new Twingo in France and has launched a 3D online configurator with full pricing information. Despite being more technologically advanced, the all-new Twingo is priced from €10,800, which is actually cheaper than the older model.

Standard kit includes 15-inch steel wheels, LED daytime running lights tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist and speed limiter. It's also worth noting that the new Twingo is smaller and yet a bit more practical. While its predecessor was only sold as a 3-door hatch, the 2014 model has five, facilitating access for the passengers.

The only standard paint finish is white and as with the Clio, metallic red, blue and brown are the most interesting colors. However, these add another €500 to the price and if you want stripes with that, it's another €200.

The standard engine fitted to the base Twingo Life trim level is a 1-liter 3-cylinder with 70 PS, good for 0 to 100 km/h in 14.5 seconds. Moving up to the Twingo Zen trim level, customers also receive air conditioning, front electric windows and a start&stop system for the 1L that visibility reduces fuel consumption in the city.

Being petrolheads, all the guys around the autoevolution office agree the turbo model is the one to get. This is powered by a the same 0.9-liter TCe with 90 PS of 3-banger power sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual. One of these babies will set you back at least €13,300, but there's no tradeoff in terms of fuel consumption and it will be a lot more fun to drive.

This isn't most expensive version of the Twingo 3 though. That title is reserved for the Twingo Edition One, a limited production model costing €15,700, but fitted with all the best kit. Renault offers this car with R-Link Evolution multimedia, partial leather seats, 16-inch wheels and a reversing camera.
