The Los Angeles Auto Show opens its doors tomorrow and all the carmakers attending will try their best to figure out ways to make the customers visit their booth instead of the competition's. For Chevy, those efforts include teaming up with Hot Wheels.
At the event, the carmaker will partner with the toy maker and offer both the real-life size and scaled Camaro Convertible. That means that the fathers can enjoy the Camaro for real, while the kids will be able to forever remember they visited the Chevy booth in 2010 thanks to the Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible giveaway.
The scaled replicas of the Camaro convertible have been created by Hot Wheels especially for the Los Angeles Auto Show, to accompany the official presentation of the topless pony. The toys will be given away throughout each day, in a limited supply though.
“Camaro and Hot Wheels are a natural fit, bringing smiles to the faces of car enthusiasts of all ages,” said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “With the real Camaro Convertible making its debut in Los Angeles, Hot Wheels and Chevrolet will let thousands of Southern Californians take home a pocket-sized Camaro.”
The Chevrolet Camaro convertible has been unveiled earlier this week, but won't make its public debut until November 19. It will come powered by a choice of two engines, a 3.6l V6 or the 6.2l V8. Prices for the model will start at $30,000, including $850 destination and the model will be offered in two versions for each engine, LT for the V6 and and SS for the V8.
