In order to fully-compete with the MINI and Citroen DS3, Opel/Vauxhall was bound to announce the development of a hot version of their posh little Adam. The trendy hipster-oriented city runabout has just entered production, and according to autoexpress.co.uk, they are already planning the creation of a ‘hot’ OPC/VRX version.
It could share its engine with the very hot Corsa OPC/VXR, a turbocharged 1.6-liter unit, with 200 hp, which would put its performance on par with its main rivals. However, according to an inside source, the Adam is not very likely to receive that engine, and a turbocharged 1.4-liter unit is a more plausible alternative - so it would be lukewarm, rather than properly hot.

Still, along with another planned version of the Adam, the Cabriolet, the range is slowly set to extend, and with the addition of new engines into the mix (including a much-needed diesel), the idea of buying an Adam will become a lot more tantalizing than it is now.
