When it comes to subcompacts Chevrolet has a reputation for making them cheap and not very cheerful. But that's steadily been changing thanks to the Sonic/Aveo, a much better car than its predecessor. This model is available as a 5-door or sedan and comes with headlights and speedo inspired by motorcycles.
Last year, the bowtie brand also launched a hot hatch version of sorts, the 2013 Sonic RS, which uses the a 1.4-liter turbo engine.

Back in July, we discovered a photo which suggested this model would go on sale in Europe as well, and now Australia is getting it. A report from CarAdvice says this car will go on sale there starting in November under the name Holden Barina RS.

With only 140 hp and 200 Nm of torque at its disposal, the Barina RS is more of a rival for Suzuki Swift Sport than a Fiesta ST. Hopefully, the price will reflect the lack of performance.
