Holden has slapped its badge onto the Sonic / Aveo sedan and tuned it into the new Barina, introducing it onto the Australian market alongside the hatch that was introduced in November.
The car is priced from AUD16,490, which is some $200 more expensive than the old Barina sedan, but it does come with extra content and fresh styling. Compared to the Barina hatch, it’s $500 more expensive, but Australian customers are sure to pick the sedan in bigger numbers.
“The addition of the sedan variant adds a new dimension of practicality and flexibility to the Barina range. Offering 502 litres of boot space, while maintaining the excellent driving characteristics, style and standard equipment of the hatch, I’m sure the sedan will continue to build on the Barina’s popularity,” says Holden’s Executive Director for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, John Elsworth.
All variants come with a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, coupled with either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
