You may remember that a while back we posted an article about the Renault Zoe which had managed to travel 1,590 km (994 miles) in 24 hours, beating the old record by around 300 km (186 miles). Now, however, the record set by the Zoe has been beaten again, but this time by a car from Australia.
The Holden Commodore EV, a specially modified all-electric version of the common Australian sedan, which was worked on by EV Engineering, has managed to surpass the Zoe’s record by 296 km (185 miles), reaching the rather unbelievable figure of 1,886 km (1178 miles), in 24 hours, traveling between two cities (Melbourne and Geelong - roughly 70 km / 43.75 miles apart) numerous times.

To achieve such an impressive result, the car used a simple and quick battery swapping system. Also, after the 70 km trip, the juice left in the car’s battery pack reportedly ranged from 20 to 25%.
