Marketed as an off-road premium pickup truck, the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 ticks all the right boxes. But if you wish to stand out from the crowd, the Off-Road Performance Package is right up your alley!
The list of improvements starts with the 6.2-liter small-block V8, coming as standard with the Hydra-Matic automatic transmission with ten forward speeds. As opposed to the bone-stock engine, this one benefits from a performance air intake and cat-back exhaust system, translating to an increase of 15 horsepower and 9 pound-feet of torque.

All in, the Tonawanda, New York-manufactured V8 peaks at 435 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque, the most General Motors has to offer in the light-duty, full-size segment. On the other hand, don’t expect the Sierra AT4 with the Off-Road Performance Package to come cheap.

The Sierra with the 4.3-liter V6 starts from $33,500 while the AT4 trim level with the 5.3-liter V8 is $50,800. The Double Cab configuration with the 6.2-liter V8 is $54,995, and the package retails at $4,940 according to the online configurator. That’s right; this is a lot of truck for a lot of money!

On sale now, the Off-Road Performance Package builds on plenty of standard content. The Sierra AT4 differs from lesser trim levels with the 2.0-inch lift kit, 4WD with two-speed transfer case, locking rear differential, underbody protection, Rancho monotube shock absorbers, Hill Descent Control, Traction Select System, and the MultiPro Tailgate.

To those, GMC further sweetes the deal with red-painted recovery hooks, body-color grille surround, handles, and bumpers, black chrome-finished fog lamp bezels, fender surround, and grille insert, plus a lot of advanced safety features. In other words, it comes with almost every bell and whistle imaginable.

“The 2019 GMC Sierra AT4 debuted all-new, purposeful technologies for the premium truck segment and the new Off-Road Performance Package takes it a step farther,” declared Duncan Aldred, vice-president of GMC. “It offers optimized performance, both on- and off-road."
