After OneRepublic’s “I Lived” video featuring Mercedes-Benz’ latest B-Class Electric Drive model experienced such a great success, the Germans have recently released the making of footage. The clip tells the story of the band’s decision to partner up with the auto maker, as the song will feature in a soon-to-be-launched series of advertising spots for the new model.
In case you missed OneRepublic’s latest video we’ll remind you that "I Lived" is dedicated to a 15-year old teen named Bryan Warnecke who lives with Cystic Fibrosis, a disease that attacks the digestive system and slowly shuts down the lungs. Even though the young fellow is suffering from a harsh health condition, his story is about never giving up and about finding the power to overcome.

Instead of failing to fight, the video shows how Bryan and his friends cycle miles to raise money for foundations that struggle to find a cure for the disease. Meanwhile, several footage taken by his parents along his childhood show how the boy has always been looking to live his life to the best. And that is pretty much what the message of the song is, which simply tells us to fully enjoy our life.

Mercedes B-Class and OneRepublic

For some reason, Mercedes-Benz tells us that their new model is kind of about that, so they partnered up with the band to promote it. As the brand’s ambassador, co-founder and frontman of the pop/rock band Ryan Tedder is seen driving along Bryan in the new B-Class Electric Drive in the video.

We shot the video at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in our home state of Colorado, which is on its way to becoming the greenest state in America. The B-Class electric car is a massive step in that direction, and given the global reach of Mercedes, the B-Class was the only car we would have put in that scene… it was perfect,” Tedder explained.

Anyway, we listed two of the behind the scene videos to get a better grip of the whole thing. As for the car, we’re going to have to wait to actually drive it first to get a proper impression.
