Mercedes has just announced new fuel-sipping version of the A-Class and B-Class for the UK market. Both these new models, dubbed A 180 CDI ECO SE and B 180 CDI ECO SE, feature the same 1.5-liter 109bhp Renault turbodiesel engine.
However, the new ECO models boast improved efficiency, thanks to lowered suspension, an aero grille and underbody streamlining. Thanks to these changes, emissions have dropped to by 6% and fuel consumption can be as low as 78.5 mpg UK in the case of the A-Class.
Available now, the A 180 CDI ECO SE is priced from £21,965 on the road, with the B 180 CDI ECO SE from £22,950 OTR. Both models benefit from free from road tax. Performance remains unchanged compared to the regular models.
The automaker has also introduced two new 4Matic AWD version of the A- and B-Class. More specifically, the A 250 4Matic which is available from £28,985 OTR for the AMG Sport trim and £30,905 for the Engineered by AMG trim, plus the B 220 4Matic is priced from £28,135.
