Cadillac had a sparkling performance in terms of sales last year, but it seems they're unable to keep up the pace – at least in the United States – during the first three months of 2024.
The deliveries slipped two percent year-over-year during the first quarter of the year, with CT5 sales even dropping 34%, but there are telltale signs that the situation will drastically improve over the next quarters. First and foremost, the company is coming to the market with the refreshed 2025 CT5 and CT5-V plus Blackwing, so it's only normal that many people are waiting for the updated model to go on sale.

Secondly, the American luxury brand is poised to fight against the current EV slump with a massive roster of all-electric offerings, including the upcoming 2025 Optiq compact CUV, the current 2024 Lyriq mid-size crossover, the incoming three-row 2026 Vistiq mid-size CUV, plus the 2025 Escalade IQ and Celestiq flagships. But that's not all, at least according to the rumor mill and the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.

Instead, Cadillac is allegedly preparing two new EV models based on an updated version of General Motors' BEV3 and Ultium platform of zero-emission technologies. And if you want to check out their looks – then Vince Burlapp (aka vburlapp on social media or burlappcar.com) is a prolific virtual artist who loves to dream of all the latest models across the wide-ranging automotive realm, and he's tried his CGI hand at them on prior occasions.

Now, though, he's not only doing illustrations of what these models could look like – they are sedans, allegedly about the same size as the current CT4 and CT5 or CT6, but he's also proposing an expansion of the roster with a hypothetical Cadillac coupe and even a station wagon of the IQ variety. So, based on the initial Cadillac EV sedan ideas, now the pixel master is also dropping or adding doors to make them sportier or more practical.

Of course, the CGI expert knows very well that two-door sports cars and five-door station wagons are growing increasingly less popular in the United States. However, there are exceptions from the norm – Dodge is returning to the Charger origins with the two-door fastback coupe in Daytona (EV) and Sixpack (3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin turbo) formats. At the same time, BMW has recently teased its M5 Touring's arrival in America.

So, what if these two became real – at least in an alternate reality where crossovers, SUVs, and trucks don't overrun the automotive realm? Of course, to make them successful, Cadillac should also think about expanding their horizons – the station wagon could be a great asset in places like Europe, while the coupe might make it an effective weapon against the Dodge Charger Daytona if you want something more luxurious and also nimbler. What do you think?
