General Motors is still busy planning the electric revolution even if things didn't go according to plan – not internally due to numerous software problems with the BEV3 platform and Ultium suite of technologies and not externally due to the possible EV market slowdown.
The Chevrolet Blazer EV is finally out and about, with the 2024 Silverado EV RST also coming during the first half of the year. As for the other C-labeled brand in the lineup, the Cadillac roster is going to be even more exciting, expensive, and also expansive.

Over at the luxury marque, the EV lineup will soon include the 2025 Optiq compact CUV produced in China, the 2024 Lyriq (which is available from $58,590), the 2026 Vistiq three-row mid-size crossover SUV, plus the 2025 Escalade IQ and 2024 Celestiq flagships, of course.

Even more so, the rumor mill is adamant that Cadillac is also working on two future EV sedans for the IQ label – both based on a revised variant of the Ultium architecture and featured alongside or in lieu of the CT4 and CT5 series plus the defunct CT6 (which is still alive and well in China).

As for the imaginative realm of digital car content creators, they're gunning for additional zero-emissions vehicles from Cadillac – including the revival of the beloved Eldorado nameplate. The idea comes from Vince Burlapp (aka vburlapp on social media or burlappcar.com), a prolific virtual artist who loves to dream of all the latest models across the wide-ranging automotive realm – and also seems to have a soft spot for the American luxury brand.

Clearly, he knows very well there are currently no rumors about the popular Eldorado moniker coming back to life – there is no word on a Cadillac coupe or convertible either. Yet, here they are, all over again – this isn't the first time this pixel master has tried to digitally resurrect the pair. On this occasion, though, it's clear the vision doesn't have anything to do with the mighty V8s of the old days. Instead, it's all about sipping electrons and causing no harmful emissions, at least not locally.

The styling is simple enough – the usual Cadillac edges are present and accounted for with classic 'Art Deco' motifs updated for the 21st century and adapted for automotive use. Up front, there's a big 'fake grille,' and the headlights are slimmer than those of a sarsaparilla leaf, while the LED DRLs keep the vertical theme of their crossover SUV counterparts.

On the other hand, the profile (complete with massive wheels) and the rear are entirely speculative, of course, as there's nothing to substantiate this wishful-thinking design project in the real world. Alas, that doesn't mean we shouldn't dream of Cadillac reviving its classic nameplates for the new generation of customers, right?
