The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition will be launched this summer, after being delayed from late 2023 The model receives a discount even before it hits the market.
Chevrolet announced the arrival of the range-topping Silverado EV RST First Edition two years ago, when it launched the Silverado EV. They anticipated a range of 400 miles (644 kilometers) and an MSRP of $105,000.

Things have changed along the way and the pickup truck is capable of driving as far as 440 miles (708 kilometers) before it needs to be plugged in again. And that is not all. It is almost $10,000 cheaper than originally announced. When it hits the showrooms this summer, it will start at $94,500, plus the $1,995 destination fee.

The model will ride on massive 24-inch wheels and will sport various interesting features. One of them will be the Multi-Flex Tailgate, which will enable the 5’11” bed to be expanded to transport items with a length of over 9 feet. Furthermore, the Milt-Flex Tailgate can be folded so the pickup truck can haul items of up to 10’10” long.

The model also comes with a fixed glass roof. All-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, and the air ride adaptive suspension are on the menu.

The electric pickup truck is capable of towing up to 10,000 pounds (4,536 kilograms), which is below what the Tesla Cybertruck boasts: 11,000 pounds (4,990 kilograms).

Standard equipment will include the 11-inch digital instrument cluster and the 17-inch touchscreen, which will display the infotainment system and will control various functions of the car. There will also be a 14-inch color head-up display on board.

A flat-bottom steering wheel will remind the driver that they are dealing with a performance version of the pickup truck.

Speaking of performance, the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition is powered by a dual-motor setup that delivers 754 horsepower (764 metric horsepower) and 785 pound-feet (1,063 Newton meters) of torque to both axles.

Those numbers are the explanation for the acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in under 4.5 seconds, according to the carmaker, when Wide Open Watts (WOW) mode is engaged.

Sitting on the Ultium architecture, the EV sports a 350 kW DC fast charging capability that fills up the 205-kWh battery pack enough for a drive of 100 miles (161 kilometers) in just 10 minutes. It is the same battery that operates in the Hummer EV Pickup and SUV.

Reservation holders who make a firm order will also get a complimentary bidirectional GM Energy Powerfshift Level 2 Charger, rated at 19.2 kW.

The top-of-the-line 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition starts at $94,500, but those who don’t need that much can still resort to the ICE-powered entry-level version, which is a $36,300 affair.

The Chevy Silverado is America’s second best-selling vehicle, with 543,319 units sold, behind Ford’s F-Series, selected by 750,789 customers.
