Forza Street, the free-to-play racing game initially released for PC as Miami Street back in 2018, is being shut down, the game’s support team announced today. However, before its closure in Spring 2022, Forza Street will get one final update on January 10, 2022.
The update coming this week is aimed at hardcore Forza Street fans who want to finish off their collection goals. Here is what you can expect from the last Forza Street update dropping sometime today:

  • A new unreleased car
  • 12 weeks of Spotlight++ featuring Rare & Epic cars, starting on January 17, 2022
  • Faster Energy recharge and increased Energy storage
  • Reduced wait times on car shows
  • Reduced prices on the vast majority of items purchased with in-game currency

Forza Street developers revealed that the reason behind the decision to shut down the game is the wish the build “new and exciting Forza products.” It’s like deprecating an old piece of software and replacing it with a new, better one. It remains to be seen what game will replace Forza Street and when that will happen.

Although it’s a free-to-play game, Forza Street features in-app purchases on both Android and iOS platforms. So, players who spent money in the game within the last 30 days will be refunded. Also, any Gold, the in-game currency, remaining after the game’s closure will be lost, so you might want to use it before that happens.

More importantly, Forza Street will no longer be playable after its closure, and its features will not be accessible. Even if you have the game installed, you will get an information screen after booting up the game that will notify you Forza Street has been closed and it’s no longer playable.

Despite Forza Street being shut down this Spring, fans of the series should be excited by what’s coming next. Hopefully, it will be something a bit more complex than Forza Street and less predatory when it comes to microtransactions.
