Ford has just released a short video that teases a mysterious performance version of the Mustang Mach-E. It looks like a performance version, and it is set to debut this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Ford is going overboard with its presence at the Goodwood event, set to debut on July 13. And this new performance version is one of the cars set to go uphill on the 14th. We assume that they are not just going to display it on some podium since they promise the car will demonstrate its “driving potential.” But we are to see it online before that happens.

What is Ford up to, actually. “A new member of our iconic Mustang family is coming this Friday at the Festival of Speed.” That is all they say about the upcoming Mustang Mach-E Version.

The video posted on YouTube Shorts shows the Mach-E and a GT driving on the Goodwood course. At some point in the 35-second clip, the E version leaves the track and heads toward a dirt track. So this is probably Ford trying to give us clues on the upcoming version, which might be a rally-ready configuration. It sports a colorful racing livery and new wheels, and might come with all-wheel drive and extra ground clearance.

It remains unclear whether Ford is planning on selling a street-legal rally-inspired version or is just presenting a one-off like the 1,400-horsepower, seven-motor Mustang Mach-E 1400.

Currently, the most potent street-legal Ford Mustang Mach-E is the GT. It sports 480 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque, provided by a dual-motor setup. And it’s not just the looks and the output that it can brag about. It also comes with a towing capacity of 3,306 pounds (1,500 kilograms).

What else is Ford bringing to Goodwood?

Ford promises to release the wild ponies in the upcoming days at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.

The rally-ready Mach E is not the only Ford that is going uphill. The Mustang GT3 race car, revealed ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans last month, is also going to be there, with its sonorous 5.4-liter V8, and so is the road-legal track-ready Mustang Dark Horse that it is based on.

The new electric Ford Explorer is going to show up at the event in the UK. The Volkswagen ID.4-based mid-size crossover will be seen in action for the very first time. The M-Sport Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 will also be there to celebrate 50 years of the FIA World Rally Championship.

But the new Mustang family member, as Ford calls it, might just steal the show. It will be revealed at the event’s First Glance Paddock on July 14.
