The good news is that Old Continent Ford Mustang fans are getting both the S650 seventh generation GT and Dark Horse variants, plus a choice of Fastback or Convertible body styles. The bad news is that they're running low on power compared to their American siblings.
Launched across nationwide US dealerships during the last summer days of 2023, the S650 seventh generation 2024 Mustang helped its S550 predecessor sanely beat the competition for the sports car crown. It's available from $31k in EcoBoost Fastback form, which is far from the pricing announced in Europe - €59,900 in Germany. That's $64,645 at the current exchange rate, by the way.

To be fair, though, we have to compare the 2024 Ford Mustang GT Fastback pricing with the European model's MSRP because the Old Continent is skipping on the 315-hp inline-four turbo EcoBoost and jumps directly on board the Mustang GT and Dark Horse bandwagon. So, the US Mustang GT Fastback starts from $42,710, which is nowhere near German pricing. The European Dark Horse is €72,500 – which translates to over $78k, a far cry from the $59,485 MSRP in America. Of course, sometimes it's hard to find dealerships that sell at MSRP levels, unlike Europe, where the shown price is usually fixed, and you'll rather find discounts than hikes.

However, the second main beef with the European version will be that Ford had to detune the Coyote V8 from up to 486 hp and 500 hp on the American GT and Dark Horse to 'just' 328 kW or 446 ps (440 hp) and 334 kW or 453 ps (448 horsepower). The good news is that you can still have it with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, whereas the ten-speed automatic costs an additional €3,000 ($3,239). Luckily, the company has brought both the Fastback coupe and Convertible model across the big pond (aka the Atlantic Ocean), and this reborn American icon will probably help the nameplate maintain its worldwide sales supremacy in the sports car sector with a few sales from Europe, too.

Otherwise, it's the same as its American counterpart – complete with the "dynamic" redesign, an "immersive jet plane-style cockpit" with a dual display configuration, SYNC 4, and "touch and swipe" controls powered by Unreal Engine software. "New Mustang is everything that our customers expect from an undisputed automotive icon – and then some. Surprising connected technology really complements and elevates performance enhancements that will win the hearts of a whole new generation of drivers," said Jon Williams, general manager of Ford Blue, Europe.

The Old Continent's new Mustang has a high-quality B&O audio system, a 12.4-inch instrument panel and a 13.2-inch central screen, the Active Exhaust system, a standard Performance Package featuring Brembo brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a limited-slip differential, plus the optional MagneRide suspension. There is also a newly available Blue Ember metallic paint, combined with Indigo Blue stitching and a dark metallic gloss finish for the interior.
