More and more small and attractive European superminis are making their way to Japan, indicating a growing popularity for European nameplates After the Renault Clio went on sale there as the "Lutecia", Ford Japan Limited announced today that their new Fiesta will also be available in early 2014.
The Fiesta sold in Japan will be equipped with the new 1-liter EcoBoost which won two consecutive World Engine of the Year award, but sadly it will only be available with 100 PS and 170 Nm output, mated to the 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch auto motivating the front wheels. It sounds to to us like they're building a premium model, just like the Lutecia, which also came only with a turbo engine and an auto gearbox.

The official photos we managed to find of the JDM Fiesta also point toward a well-specced model, as the body has a combination of Titanium luxury and Zetec body kit and wheels.
