Ford Focus RS Gets Movit Brakes

Ford has announced that it will introduce the new (concept) incarnation of the Ford Focus ST at the upcoming Paris Auto Show, but the current generation big brother of ST, the Focus RS, still manages to make it into the headlines.

The mad hatch has just received a high-performance braking system from Movit Performance. This consists of Billet calipers that are machined from aircraft spec aluminum and use a progressive, vehicle specific piston arrangement that allows a perfect distribution of the contact pressure, even pad wear and and good modulation ability.

These are accompanies by Movit rotors, which use a special alloy that ensures the lowest possible wear. The inner part of the disc comes with a double directional ventilation system that offers a larger surface than similarly-sized discs. This offers a high level of heat-absorption and heat-transfer, allowing the disc to stay cool and avoiding fading. The rotors also feature a special perforation that offer a responsive feeling, even under wet conditions.

The kit also comes with Movit brake pads that offer a responsive pedal feel, as well as low fading. The Ford Focus RS Movit braking system can be painted in multiple colors, including Ultimate Green.

306hp, 0-100km/h in just 5,9s and 263 km/h top speed - it’s a real sportsman. The new MOVIT braking system for this streetable racer does not only offer brutal braking force combined with super fine modulation ability, but it can also be painted individually - for example in Ultimate Green,” stated the press release.
