Ford Focus RS Gets WRC-Style Wheels

The current generation of the Focus RS finally reached end of production, and the British division of Ford found a special way to commemorate that. The manufacturer announced the release of a special edition WRC-style wheel option, available at £500 per set. The 19-inch, white-finished alloy wheels are, in fact, giving the Focus RS a look that is closer to Mikko Hirvonen’s rally model.

“The demand for Focus RS has been astounding. In barely a year since launch, we have sold almost our entire UK allocation – thanks in a large part to this Focus RS continuing the proud tradition of combining high-performance with practicality and affordability,” David Calder Ford of Britain Product Manager, said in a release.

“We expect demand to be high for these last cars and we’re giving customers the chance to personalise them with this exclusive option,” Calder added.

The RS badge stands for Rallye Sport and represents the high-performance version of the Ford Focus positioned above the ST model within the Focus range. This is the second generation RS and has a Duratec engine which produces 305 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque.

The car is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 6 seconds. Despite its power, the car remains front wheel drive, but in order to reduce torque steer it uses a Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing LSD and a specially designed MacPherson strut suspension at the front, called RevoKnuckle.

Three exterior colors have been available for the second generation Focus RS, namely Ultimate Green, Performance Blue and Frozen White, and the newly released wheel option goes perfectly with the sporty design of the car.
