The automotive sector and the financing industry have gone hand in hand for decades, and today there are numerous credit cards out there celebrating the connection. Since late last year, there’s also one that specifically caters to the Blue Oval enthusiast crowd – the FordPass Rewards Visa Card.
It’s the latest entry in the expanding roster of FordPass Rewards loyalty program, which acts as a sort of car club that brings special benefits every time customers make a related purchase. For example, members can accumulate points based on “maintenance and new vehicle purchases at Ford dealerships to use toward future service, accessories or even a down payment on a new Ford.”
The Blue Oval likes to keep it “pretty simple,” so people will be getting exactly 5% “back in points” when making purchases at Ford’s network of dealers, 3% “on gas, auto insurance, tolls, parking and even dining,” while everything else that’s eligible for the program will earn back 1% in points.
Also, there’s one special place where the rewards reach a maximum level of 10% - at the service, with half coming from the Ford Dealership Purchases and another 5% thanks to FordPass Rewards. As a bonus, everyone who’s enlisted with the program receives a total of 11k points after the first purchase, with the quota being enough to secure a free “Works Service Package,” for example.
Recently, the company decided the new card is a bit too serious in its official black/blue colors, so it came up with a new design. It’s not just any look, though, because the styling is celebrating the one Ford that’s been on everyone’s mind since it got revealed back in July 2020 – the reinvented Bronco.
According to Ford, the new card style has “all of the same benefits but with a bold Bronco look.” Nothing else seems to have changed, though, so the Bronco-inspired FordPass Rewards Visa Card should work exactly the same way as the rest of the program’s credit cards.
