First Lotus Exige S Rolls Off the Production Line

Lotus is in the midst of an economical and managerial storm at the moment, as the company’s CEO, Dany Bahar, has been dismissed and now rumors floating around the web show that VW is looking to acquire the sports car producer from its current owner DRB-Hicom.
However, the Lotus is determined to move on and today the first Exige S, an all-new model, has rolled off the production line. When met the beast in person and were impressed by its sky-high level of aggression, with every inch of the car shouting “speed!”.

We’ll remind you that power comes from a 3.5-liter V6 unit that relies on a supercharger to deliver 345 hp and only has to carry around 2,380 lbs (1,080 kg). It is extremely difficult to foresee Lotus’ future, as a VW takeover wouldn’t necessarily mean that its upcoming cars would be desirable vehicles.
