First Images of Lancia Flavia Sedan and Convertible Concepts

Lancia is hard at work, preparing for what will probably be its biggest Geneva Show lineup ever. Almost the entire rage of models has been updated and improved upon. In addition to the new Ypsilon which we have already covered in detail, the show will see the debut of the Chrysler 300-based Thema, the Flavia, Flavia Convertible Concept, Grand Voyager and the restyling of the Delta. Last month, rumors were circulating on the Internet that the Chrysler 200-based Lancia model would become a reality. Now the Italian carmaker confirmed the model will come in both sedan and convertible forms and will be called the Flavia. “Like Lancia Flavia Concept: this D Segment saloon and convertible embraces the stylistic features of the Italian manufacturer, giving a unique interpretation of the Chrysler 200 model which could be launched on European markets in record time,” stated the official press release. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not announced the engine range, which is probably why the car that looks production-ready is being called a concept. The good news is, just in case you want to feel the wind in your hair behind the wheel of a Flavia, that production could start in just 6 months. Both configurations of the Lancia Flavia Concept are characterized by an extensive equipment level, with impressive standard features that include electronic stability control (ESC), numerous airbags (multi-stage front, side and window-bags), electronic traction control, a steering wheel with integrated controls for completely safe management of radio and cruise control. autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
