We could be looking at the first image of the 2014 BMW M4 Convertible. The image has recently showed up online and it is claimed that this is a scan from a German brochure of the model.
Of course, this is the moment when everybody wonders if we’re dealing with the real thing or not. Well, the clues are mixed, but most of them point to a positive answer.
We recently showed you a set of spy photos of the fully naked F30 BMW M3 and all the characteristic elements found there seem to have made their way into the 4-Series convertible shown here.
Everything fits: the rear apron with its diffuser and quadruple tailpipes, the wheels, the door mirrors and even the elements on the front fenders. Everything but one detail - the way in which the front left wheel sits doesn’t seem to be fully legit.
Regardless of this, we’ll remind you that the M4, be it convertible or not, will come with an appealing diet. BMW is making extended use of lightweight materials to bring the weight down, as increasing the power to weight ratio is the main asset of the new M4.
As for the power, the 3.0-liter turbocharged straight six that will make its way under the M4’s hood won’t top the figures of the current naturally-aspirated engine by all that much. However, we’re expecting an output of about 430 HP.
