The very first 2012 Shelby Mustang GT350 Convertible, previously owned by Carroll Shelby himself, fetched $137,500 at the Las Vegas Barrett-Jackson auction event this weekend.
The convertible musclecar is fitted with the company’s widebody package and sports a supercharged V8 engine under the hood. The vehicle is also fitted with massive brakes, has an upgraded interior and sits on Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Needless to say, the new owner is in for loads of fun in this car.
“We carefully documented the build of this car,” said Shelby American vice president of production Gary Davis. “Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It’s the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car.”
The same event in Las Vegas saw the unique 2014 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet prototype cross the block for $200,000. All proceeds were donated to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
