The very first production 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupe has reached its owner, NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, just five days after GM began delivering its brand new sportscar.
Why is this news worthy you may ask? Well, even though we’re talking about a regular 2014 Corvette (but with VIN #0001), Hendrick paid no less than $1.1 million for it back in January during a Barrett-Jackson auction event.
The proceeds from the sale went to the Detroit College for Creative Studies, while Hendrick got to pick out the colors in advance, and, according to CarBuzz, he went for a black body with red interior. But wait, there’s more: GM decided to surprise Rick and gave him a second 2014 Corvette, VIN #0002, in red with a red interior.
As a reminder, the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe starts at $51,995, including destination, and is motivated by at least 455 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque.
