FIA Test Shows Massa's Eyesight 100 Percent

Felipe Massa would be ready to step into a Formula One car from as early as tomorrow. Of course, this is only from his eyesight standpoint, and not his physical condition. Following a series of medical tests underwent by the Brazilian driver at the FIA headquarters in Paris the other day, it seems his eyesight is 100 percent good.

The tests were conducted at Paris' Pitie Salpetriere hospital, with Ferrari announcing, via their official site, that the 28-year old has "recovered the functions of his left eye."

Massa was due to undergo another series of tests at the aforementioned hospital on Saturday afternoon. If everything will go according to plan, the Brazilian will travel back to Maranello during the course of Sunday afternoon and prepare for his first on-track tests since his accident in the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Massa is due to get behind the wheel of a 2-year old Ferrari - namely the F2007 - on Monday, as the car will be fitted with GP2-spec tires. Given the in-season ban introduced by the FIA for the ongoing season, Ferrari have asked the governing body to give its go-ahead on the test.

Both the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) and the FIA agreed to the test, which will most likely be conducted at Fiorano test track.

Massa has returned to Maranello from his native Brazil last Monday, as he underwent plenty of hours of testing inside the simulator throughout the past week.
