Massa Completes 6-Hour Simulator Test

Felipe Massa yesterday concluded his first day of simulator preparations for his Formula One return, before taking the wheel of the Ferrari F2007 later this month. The Brazilian driver admitted that the 6 hours of simulating an F1 drive did not quite resembled what happens in the real world – meaning on the actual circuit – but it was a good start to his first week at Maranello.

We worked very well, without any problems. The simulator uses a A1GP single-seater, so it’s not exactly like Formula 1, but pretty close. I drove on the track in Barcelona to avoid creating an even bigger test atmosphere,” said Massa after the yesterday session.

Following his first test in the simulator yesterday, Massa went on to answer his fans “who sent their emails and wrote in the forum of Ferrari’s website”. He said that yesterday's session was not very different to what he has experienced during his karting outing at Granja Viana last week, and hinted that he wants to come back to racing as soon as possible.

I miss Formula 1 a lot: it’s my passion more than my job. It was hard to stay in front of the TV and watching the team, also because I had to get up very early because of the different time-zones,” said the Brazilian driver.

I’ve been always in contact with Domenicali and with the boy to keep me updated about what was happening on the track and at home as far as the next year is concerned,” added Massa.

According to the Ferrari official site, “this week’s programme will continue tomorrow with another day at the simulator. On Thursday Felipe will take part in an event dedicated exclusively to the fans in the www.ferrari.com community, who can chat with him. Then the further programme will be decided, but there won’t be a test with a Formula 1 car this week.
