Ferrari is reportedly planning to build a new Formula One facility near its Maranello headquarters. According to German newspaper Bild, the new three-storey plant will be enough to accommodate Scuderia Ferrari’s 700 employees and will be ready in about a year.
Ferrari hopes the new facility, which adds to the manufacturer’s new driver simulator and renovated wind tunnel, will enable its Formula One team to regain competition success after a six-year hiatus.

With 16 manufacturers’ championships to its name, Scuderia Ferrari won its last Formula One world title back in 2007. The 2013 season is already out of reach, as Ferrari is trailing Red Bull Racing by 148 points, with four rounds to go.
