What if the streets were exclusively populated by Ferraris? There’s one that you’re holding by the steering wheel, one on each side of yours, one parked, one waiting at the traffic light and your grilfriend also drives a Prancing Horse. How would that feel?
The answer to this came yesterday on the UK’s Silverstone circuit, where the Prancing Horse established a world record for the biggest parade of Ferraris. The carmaker had set itself the goal to gather 1,000 cars, but only 964 came to the party. However, this beat the previous record by quite a distance - 490 cars came to Japan’s Fuji Speedway Circuit back in 2008.
The event also served a good cause, as Ferrari donated GBP5 for each car that took part to BEN, a British charity that offers support to employees in the car industry and to their families.
The parade was led by Felipe Massa in a 458 Spider, with this being a very special moment for the F1 driver: “It was a really unforgettable experience,” he said. “It’s a great honour for me to be here for such a special event, with so many cars all brought together on one race track, which produced an unprecedented spectacle for all Prancing Horse fans.”
