Female Eventing Sensation Becomes Subaru Ambassador

The only rider to have ridden in seven consecutive European Youth Championship teams, winning a grand total of five gold medals, has become an official Subaru Brand Ambassador, Subaru announced today. Emily Llewellyn is, in fact, the British top young female eventer and a potential London 2012 Olympic contender.

As part of the deal with Subaru, the 20-year-old riding prodigy has been given a specially liveried 2.0D XC Forester featuring Union Jack decals to drive. Llewellyn will also be representing the brand at this year’s Houghton International Horse Trials, scheduled to take place between May 27-30.

“I am so thrilled to be supported by Subaru. The Forester is a fantastic car and has exceeded all of my expectations.  I find it both powerful yet light to drive and, being All-Wheel Drive, it covers me for every circumstance that I may come across in my equestrian life,” Llewellyn said in a release.

Standard features on the 2.0D XC include climate control, heated front seats, an electric sunroof, xenon headlamps, stability control and eight airbags. The 2.0D engine offered on the Forester produces a maximum power of 144.8 hp at 3,600 rpm and 257 lb-ft of torque between 1,800 and 2,400 rpm.

This means the car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, while topping at 115.6 mph (186 km/h). As for fuel consumption, the engine achieves up to 32.66 mpg (7.2 L/100Km) and 40.55 mpg (5.8 L/100Km) in city and highway cycles respectively.
