The first half of 2023 has brought quite a few impressive sales on the pre-loved superyacht market. Things aren't going that bad for new builds, either. This massive 235-footer (72 meters) didn't have to wait more than a few weeks to find an owner, despite its exorbitant price. It's no surprise, though, because we're talking about a Feadship, arguably the top luxury yacht builder in the world.
In the extravagant world of top-level superyachts, you don't choose your next pleasure craft, it chooses you. As soon as it was officially announced last year, the fabulous Sakura got multiple offers, and the builder was the one who got to select "the winner," not the other way around.

After just six weeks of officially being on the market, Sakura found its owner. The lucky fellow had the honor of paying somewhere around $150 million (the last known asking price was €148 million) for this coveted vessel that will take two more years to complete.

Owning a Feadship, whether classic, pre-loved, or brand-new, is an honor in itself. This world-famous Dutch shipyard never disappoints, mixing otherworldly designs with huge innovations and the latest tech trends.

Sakura is no exception. As its name suggests ("sakura" is Japanese for cherry blossom), this superyacht exudes a strong Oriental flavor mixed with Feadship's renowned Scandinavian style. The result is commonly referred to as Japandi. This design philosophy can be applied to anything from mansions to superyachts. It's characterized by minimalism, fluidity, neutral color palettes, organic shapes, natural materials, and wide, open spaces.

A floating Zen temple with the lavish amenities of the most luxurious mansions, Sakura can comfortably accommodate 14 guests and a huge 18-people crew. The master suite is like a self-contained resort unfolding over an entire private deck. Surrounded by jaw-dropping floor-to-ceiling windows, it offers direct access to a private breakfast nook and an elegant hot tub, all on the same deck.

Onboard amenities include a seven-meter (23 feet) swimming pool and a sprawling wellness area with a gym, a sauna, and a massage room. The enormous sky lounge offers remarkably comfortable al-fresco dining, turning into an ultra-cozy family movie theater in the evening.

Like most of Feadship's recent designs, Sakura steps into the future with a hybrid-electric propulsion system. At 12 knots (13.8 mph/22 kph), it cruises smoothly, with minimal noise and vibration. Range-wise, it's able to cover up to 4,500 nautical miles (8,300 km) on a single trip.

A Feadship 827, Sakura was designed by the acclaimed De Voogt Naval Architects in collaboration with Azure Yacht Design, while the Italian studio FM Architettura styled its stunning Japandi interiors. This fabulous superyacht is currently under construction and expected to emerge in the Spring of 2025.
