The recently facelifted Mazda 2 will make its Chinese market debut on September 22nd. When comparing it to the old model, it features a restyled front bumper and grille, new lights and new choices of rims. The rear remains untouched, yet it gains a small spoiler positioned above the rear window.
On the inside, the ambiance is considerably improved by the addition of a large multimedia screen, as well as new graphics for the dials. It will be powered by the same 1.3-liter unit with 86 hp, or the 1.5-liter unit with 103 hp, and it comes with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard - a four-speed self-shifting option is also available (but very outdated).
Pricing for the current car ranges between 80,800 yuan to 105,300 yuan (€9,890 - €12,890), and we expect it to remain unchanged. Mazda is able to keep costs low by manufacturing the 2 locally, via their Chang’an joint venture.
