The new M4 is a car that allows tuners to go wild with their tuning kits, unlike the previous gen E92 M3. That’s because the M3 Coupe used a naturally aspirated engine whose power output couldn’t be easily upgraded without forced induction.
This time, BMW introduced the S55 twin-turbocharged inline 6-cylinder 3-liter engine on the M4, a different layout accompanied by different technology. Since this one has turbos on it, ECU maps cold go a long way in terms of performance and that’s exactly what happened.
The guys from European Auto Source are some of the best in the business when it comes to working on Bimmers. Therefore, their shop M4 had to set an example for the customers, showing off what EAS is capable of.
In that regard they took care of everything, without going haywire. They installed mostly OEM+ parts on the M4 including the complete BMW M Performance Carbon works (splitters, caps, diffusers and so on), a new exhaust from Akrapovic that we told you everything about earlier, H&R lowering springs and some wheel spacers.
The biggest change came under the bonnet however, taking the 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) car up to 559 WHP and 605 lb-ft (820 Nm) of torque. That means, there’s somewhere around 600 HP available at the crank. That’s incredible for a 3-liter engine! It was all done thanks to a Burger Motorsport JB4 tune that isn’t included in the guys’ offer at the moment. The car is still incredibly good looking and absolutely crazy powerful.
