It's nice to see Elon Musk's tweets revealing his company's next big move, but we're not too keen on mysterious announcements unless an official announcement will follow.
In a tweet posted on Monday, Elon Musk is announcing a 'major new Tesla product line' that is not a car. Well, Elon, you sure know how to keep people on their toes, we'll give you that. By the way, Tesla's new product will only be announced on April 30 at the Hawthorne Design Studio so until then, let the speculation begin.

Could Tesla be working on a smartphone? I can't see what not, especially since Apple were constantly bragging about their so-called iCar a couple of weeks ago. Ar they working on an electric bike? That could be the case, but we're betting that there's a higher purpose in Tesla's efforts.

In fact, we think that Elon Musk's latest announcement has something to do with Tesla's plans for fitting a battery in your home. In other words, Tesla is looking to break the energy-storage market for houses.

Musk himself announced the launch of a household battery a while ago, by saying "we are going to unveil the Tesla home battery, the consumer battery that would be for use in people's houses and businesses fairly soon."

If that desire materializes in the near future, it could mean that many will ditch electricity bills as consumers could decide to go off the grid, a decision that will hurt electricity suppliers real bad.

Coupled with the recent announcement on Twitter, the whole picture might be telling us that Tesla will redirect efforts towards launching a full-operable home battery pack within the next couple of months.

P.S.: I'm still dreaming about that Tesla bicycle though.
