McSkillet, real name Trevor Heitmann, was only 18 years old and had achieved fame on YouTube, where he had more than 800,000 followers.
When he drove his sportscar into traffic, he crashed into a 2010 Hyundai SUV driven by Pizarro’s mother. The impact was so strong that the SUV instantly burst into flames, killing the woman and her daughter, 12, on the spot. McSkillet also died at the scene from blunt force trauma and several other cars caught fire.
In preparing for the funeral, Angelo reached out to The Rock on social media. His mother had always had a soft spot for the actor, so Angelo thought he could say a few words about her so he could include the segment into the funeral.
The Rock delivered. Once the message got through to him, he recorded a heartfelt video and sent it back to Angelo, expressing his condolences and wishing him all the best.
“I’m sending you so much love and light and strength your way, from my family to yours,” Johnson says. “I’m so sorry to hear about your sister and your mom and this tragic loss that you’re going through. If your mom could see me now, which I’m sure she can, I just want to thank her for all the love and for being such a big fan. Stay strong.”
It might not seem like much, but with The Rock, you know it comes from the heart.
My beautiful mom who passed away loved @TheRock so so SO much. I’m trying to get him to do even a video saying her name for the funeral. If you could retweet the crap outta this for him to see it that’d mean the world. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/ypr4ZJzMxw
