Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock is one of Hollywood’s most lucrative actors: he’s an action movie star but he’s also branched out into producing and other areas. He’s also an incredibly generous man.
In fact, The Rock is very famous for his generosity and how he likes to surprise members of his family and team by buying for them expensive rides. He even calls himself Dwanta Claus.
Most recently, it was the turn of his stunt double to be showered with affection and a very expensive gift on wheels: Tanoai Reed, who is also the actor’s cousin, has worked with him for 17 years. As a sign of gratitude, he got a brand new, custom Ford F-150 pickup truck, giant red bow and everything.
You can see the exact moment when Johnson surprised him in the Instagram video below. Reed thought that he and Johnson were shooting a video about their many years together. In fact, he was just back to work after recovering from a stunt injury.
“Over the course of my career, my stunt double (and cousin) Tanoai Reed has broken multiple bones, severed tendons, torn ligaments & just been an overall dominating bad ass achieving several ‘Stuntman of the Year’ honors,” Johnson writes in a caption to the video.
“I had this custom pick up truck delivered just in time to surprise him (he’s still recovering from a stunt injury) while we give what he thought was going to be an interview about our careers together,” the actor adds.
When Johnson stepped back to reveal the pickup truck, it was truly an emotional moment for both. Truth be told, you wouldn’t expect 2 grown men of their build to burst into tears, but that’s exactly what happens. This just goes to show that a new car, custom or not, is always the kind of present that you can bet won’t be returned the next day.
