You know you’re in a hurry when you can’t even wait for your car to come to a full stop after you’ve crashed it into another vehicle, causing a chain reaction.
One driver in a red Cadillac was in Philadelphia last Friday when, outside the 6ABC studios, he failed to stop in traffic and rear-ended another vehicle with enough force to trigger a chain reaction. Three other cars were damaged in the incident, in addition to the Caddy, 6ABC reports.

However, that’s not even the strangest part, as you can see in the video at the bottom of the page as well. As the Cadillac was pushed off the boulevard and onto the pavement and the grass, the driver was seen emerging from it through the open sunroof.

He didn’t even wait for the vehicle to come to a halt before attempting to flee the scene, and he only returned briefly, when he realized he had something he needed inside the car. Then, almost losing a flip flop and not looking back, the man ran away.

A good 20 minutes later, the police arrived and, after another 20 minutes, an ambulance. About 45 minutes after the crash, the driver was returned to the scene in the back of another police cruiser. He was cited and let go, and the police went on their way while paramedics were still offering on-site assistance to the victims in the other vehicles.

And then… “somehow, someway, an hour and 17 minutes after the accident, while paramedics were still taking care of the injured, the driver of the Cadillac got in his car and was able to drive it away,” the report notes. “State police have not yet revealed what the driver has been cited for.”

The good news is that no one involved in the accident suffered serious injuries. The bad news is that, somewhere in Philadelphia, there’s a careless, dangerous driver who is still on the roads.
