When is the last time somebody mentioned a Lada and a Porsche 911 Carrera RS in the same sentence. Maybe there was an accident one... who knows. But we’re pretty sure this is the first time in the history of the Internet that a Lada 2101 drag raced a Nissan GT-R.
Your grandfather’s communist car belongs to the 1970s. It used to have about 50 horsepower and a bouncy suspension to deal with anything from the Crimean Peninsula to the Siberian mountains.
This one has been especially created by Vintic & Spuntic Workshop, packs 240 horsepower and has been restored to glorious condition. So much so that it has enough grunt to take on a 1990s Porsche drop-top which has about 60 horsepower more. Off the line, the Lada appears to be quicker, but its brick-like shape loses it the final victory.
Can it fight against godzilla? Not when there’s a 760 horsepower difference. But the Lada still has spark in its eyes.
