Anyone with a soft spot for large crossovers is likely aware that Hyundai is about to retire the Palisade. However, the Korean company won't ditch this segment, as they have a brand-new one in the making as we speak, and it will be a while until it arrives at dealers nationwide.
The vehicle is being tested as we speak, with the team responsible for the R&D phase fine-tuning it with every chance it gets. Word on the street is that it features a different platform, which we know nothing of so far, yet it will also be adopted by its cousin from Kia, the second-gen Telluride.

Hyundai has managed to keep the powertrain details secret, too. Still, reports indicate that it might feature a new 3.5L V6 lump with turbocharging. A partially electrified 2.5-liter engine could also join the family, and it appears that the all-wheel drive system will be optional, as all base models should launch with front-wheel drive.

The cockpit will be brand new, featuring a widescreen setup that combines the digital dials and infotainment system, previous scoops have revealed. We were also able to catch a glimpse of the steering wheel, but most parts were under wraps.

There is not much to report about when it comes to the exterior design, either, as the all-new Hyundai Palisade is still covered in thick camouflage. However, that doesn't mean that certain rendering artists have ignored it. Quite the opposite, in fact, as we have seen several unofficial takes on it, the latest of which came from the peeps at Kolesa.

Usually, this outlet is almost spot-on when guessing the design of upcoming rides and filling in the blanks. However, this time, we're not entirely sure that the vehicle in question will look anything like this. Spy shots have shown that it will be much boxier. The front windscreen won't be as arched, and the same goes for the roofline. Even the roof rails look nothing like they did on the snapped prototypes.

The shape and placement of the main clusters stay true to the real thing, and it is possible that it will feature a full-width light bar right below the hood. The wide grille and even wider lower air intake in the front bumper are pure assumptions at this point. The same goes for the back-end design, which continues to be hidden by a fake hump on the scooped testers, yet they might be on to something.

Guess we'll have to wait for Hyundai to shed some camouflage from the upcoming Palisade to see more realistic renderings, yet for now, it is what it is. So, would you be mad if the vehicle looked like the one imagined here? We wouldn't, even though the digital illustrations share very few things in common with the prototypes.
