Hyundai's flagship crossover, the Palisade, is being completely refreshed, with the Korean company preparing the second generation. Expected in 2025 as a 2026 model, it was recently spied undergoing testing in the cold, and its design seems to have been inspired by the smaller Santa Fe.
Even though it featured thick camouflage doubled by the fake plastic cladding, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade clearly has a more upright nose and repositioned headlamps that sport a different shape. Due to the fake hump, it is impossible to make out the details at the back, like the taillights, tailgate, and bumper, yet one thing is certain, the license plate is still positioned a few inches below the rear windscreen.

The profile shots reveal that it still has a straight roofline and overhangs that are just as long as in the current iteration. However, it appears that the all-new Hyundai Palisade has a bit more space between the axles, which would translate to a roomier interior, especially for second and third-row passengers. Unfortunately, the interior was not visible in the first set of scoops, yet we wouldn't be surprised if it adopted a layout similar to the Santa Fe and maybe identical screens.

Besides the new exterior that is on the boxy side of things and the redesigned cockpit that we have yet to see but will presumably get the brand's latest technology features, sprinkled with a few premium touches, the next-generation Hyundai Palisade is also expected to be based on a different platform. Little is known about it other than the fact that it offers a longer wheelbase. Rumor has it the powertrain family will comprise an electrified 2.5-liter mill and a brand-new V6 with forced induction said to retire the current 3.8-liter unit.

In production since 2018 and facelifted four years later, the Hyundai Palisade is the same car beneath the skin as the Kia Telluride. It is almost 197 inches (nearly five meters) long, has 114.2 inches (2,900 mm) between the axles, and tips the scales at over 4,000 pounds (1,800+ kg). The 2024 model year comprises the SE, SEL, XRT, Limited, Calligraphy, and Calligraphy Night trim levels, which have respective MSRPs of $36,400, $39,150, $41,550, $47,700, $50,100 and $53,600.

Regardless of your selection, all versions of the Palisade pack the same engine, which is a 3.8-liter V6. The power unit produces 291 hp (295 ps/217 kW) at 6,000 rpm and puts 262 pound-feet (355 Nm) of torque at 5,200 rpm under the driver's right foot. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering the thrust to the front wheels on most versions or to the optional all-wheel drive system. The AWD is available in all grades and comes standard on the top-of-the-line spec.
