The luxury US automaker wrapped 2023 with spectacular delivery figures and a surprising best-selling nameplate – its CT5 mid-size sedan. Obviously, the CUVs, SUVs, and trucks are not all mighty at Cadillac, right?
As such, it is no wonder that the CT5 got upgraded for the 2025 model year, and the CT5-V plus Blackwing high-performance models quickly followed suit. However, in the long run, are the CT4 and CT5 doomed or not? That's a very good question, indeed.

The CT4 American compact executive sedan will probably not live past this iteration – and the ATS lineage might end with it. However, the CT5's surprisingly strong showcase makes for a compelling case that passenger cars are not all doomed like the US automaker first thought. However, they might still need to adapt in order to survive. That means joining the EV lifestyle, of course.

Cadillac seems well prepared to meet the needs of the future automotive customer – it will soon have a massive EV lineup comprised of the Caddy Optiq compact luxury crossover SUV produced in China by SAIC-GM, the existing Lyriq mid-size luxury CUV that was introduced for the 2023MY as the brand's first fully electric vehicle on the BEV3 platform, the upcoming 2026 Vistiq three-row mid-size crossover, plus the Escalade IQ and Celestiq flagships.

While the Escalade IQ is probably coming with a higher price tag than the base $82k ICE-powered Escalade, it's also nowhere near the $340k Celestiq. As such, the luxury brand has much space between them that could be filled with other EV passenger cars. Since the rumor mill never sleeps, there are already whispers that claim Cadillac is already working on two new EV sedans.

With that in mind, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is never far behind, too. As such, Vince Burlapp (aka vburlapp on social media or burlappcar.com) is a prolific virtual artist who loves to dream of all the latest models across the wide-ranging automotive realm – and he recently cooked up the illustrations for these hypothetical Cadillac EV sedans.

Both are potentially smaller and sleeker than the Celestiq but also feature the same fastback styling to make a connection with the flagship sedan. The pixel master believes that both are potentially coming on GM's newly updated BEV Prime architecture, an upcoming global vehicle platform that is a more premium variant of the current BEV3, and the smaller one will succeed both the CT4 and CT5 classic ICE-powered sedans.

The second one, meanwhile, is supposed to drop Cadillac back into the large sedan (aka land yacht) segment on top of models like the Mercedes EQS, BMW i7, and especially the Lucid Air and Tesla Model S. So, what do you think about the two unofficial renderings?
